Took these quick screenies. ^^;

The first thing you see... in which I immediately created two more characters. =]

First went to scout out the new Guild Halls. Isle of Meditation = the new Warrior Isle.

Bukbuk Bypass... or whatever it's called. It's really hard to lose with a party of 13...

I also got lost on the way to the Monastery, and so here I am in a mission cutscene with Mhenlo. xD

After that I finally found my way to the Monastery, fought some lvl 3 enemies, and called it a night. =)

A little insight from just my first 8 hours of playing.

Running thru content is going to be very hard in Factions since you have to do "quest" to "unlock" new areas along the as usual linear path.

Anet in it's infinite wisdom put disenchanters/shatters everywhere it seems in this one, I'd love to see a 55 monk just try to solo the first couple of mission/areas.

The missions are ungawdly harder than any of the missions in Tryia ANY of them. The first couple of missions make FOW/UW seem like a toddlers toy, be prepared to do them over an over an over again. Those who wanted more "challenge" in the pve game are certainly going to get it. I counted no less than 25 npc's in one battle of one mission. You can forget what's just inside your agro circle anymore, it's like when you agro one group that group agro's two to three more and they come from every direction. Be sure and take 3 monks with you. <grin>

I'm a bit disappointed in the graphics of the areas to explore, they are drab, very low light and just basically ugly looking to me. The zones appear somewhat bigger and there's some open areas to maneuver in, but, all n all it's still rather linear as before.

The city/outposts aren't too bad and the 1500gp armor sets show up rather quickly and if you want some Faction Tyrian armor for 1500gp there's even an npc in one of the combat areas that sells it.

There's some new collectors items that were harder to get in GW's that are easier to get in Factions I found. A necro focus item +12 energy +1 blood +30hp's is right there at the beginning practically.

The new berserker armor I think is going to become the pvp armor of choice. It's the same armor stats as the gladiators and comes with extra health +15 for the chest, +10 for the legs and +5 for boots/gauntlets. And added +35hps if you buy the complete set. Not sure if the knights/ascalon bug has been fixed now with Factions where you get a global -2 dmg for wearing one piece. The new energy weapons that come with +5 energy but no % dmg modifiers might become popular as well. Just customize them and you have 20% bonus to dmg and the +5 energy to boot. This will be a great combo for those that have been running in gladiators armor for the energy.

The drops, heh, well I hate to tell you this, but, they are as pitiful as before, lots of whites, blues are actually RARE lol and purple and gold are something you still dream about. I played oh at least 5 areas and 2 missions and not a single gold drop in any of them. Even in the 2 missions I played with human players nobody got a gold drop, but, we did find a chest with a gold drop in them, unfortunately I had no key. ;(

My biggest disappointment is that I can't get to the 12v12 arena on the head start program. I specifically bought Factions so I could play 12v12, really don't care about pve anymore, there's not any goals other than capping elites left. Anet is so afraid some people are going to play the first day for free they took out the NPC's in our guilds that used to take us directly to the 12v12 pvp area. So, here I am basically waiting a 2nd day to play what I paid to play the game early for in the first place. Piddling around in pve content......boring actually.
